SABORKA is taking another step towards a more sustainable production - and we are excited to be working with the new material Piñatex.
Mother nature is precious, let us protect her and let us work with the materials given by her in a responsible and sustainable way.
The production of Piñatex works with the waste created by Pineapple plantations - and turns the pineapple fibre leaf into a beautiful material. According to
findings from Ananas Anam "There is approximately 13 million tonnes of waste from global pineapple agricultur ever year." and "Using the waste of the
top 10 pineapple growing countries we could theoretically replace over 50% of the global leather production without planting a single pineapple." - I mean, how cool is
that?
We strongly believe that loved products last.
There are many things you can do to make sure that your accessories stay beautiful. Starting July 2020, with every bag or backpack you will recieve a linen bag, for you to store your SABORKA
when it is not in use.
If you want to clean your SABORKA #MadeFromPiñatex make sure to follow the instructions to ensure the
proper care for your favorite accessory:
(the following instructions are taken directly from the Piñatex Guidelines)
/ 1 Clean your product thoroughly and effectively using a cloth soaked in warm soapy water. If your item is heavily soiled, you can rinse with lukewarm ater but never fully submerge the product as this may cause irreversible damage.
/ 2 Let your item dry before any application is made and refrain from using a heat source to dry more quickly, as this could cause damage.
/ 3 We recommend using a natural colourless wax for your #MadeFromPiñatex products. Apply a small amount to a dry, soft cloth and rub sparingly
over the textile in a circular motion until fully absorbed. Do not use too much wax as it may not fully absorb.
/ 4 Leave your item to try naturally for 24 hours after application.
/ 5 You can also buff the way off with a dry cloth or soft brush.
